Sophia Hadjipanteli fronts our Halloween campaign. She is a model, an activist, and the founder of the #UnibrowMovement.
She spent her school years being asked to explain what she was wearing.

"People used to always ask me, why are you wearing that? Why are you wearing that? That's so weird."

Halloween was the one day the question stopped. "Halloween is the one day a year where you're allowed to be as weird as you want, and no one questions it because they think it's a costume. But little do they know, Halloween is every single day of my life."

The evidence is a leather jacket. She thrifted it at Goodwill when she was twelve and has worn it ever since, loud and jingly and covered in badges collected on the way round. At school it was the thing she got made fun of for. Now strangers stop her to ask where she got it. “It’s been around the world and back with me a few times, and I’ll probably be buried with it.” She is the same person in a studio as she is in someone’s kitchen. “The easiest thing for me to do is to be myself, and the most difficult thing in the world is to try to be someone else, especially if I feel like I’m doing it because I want someone to like me.”

No Place Like Home is set in the hour before a house party. By her standards that is nowhere near enough time. “I take at least six hours to get ready, and I like to start early, and I don’t like to be rushed.” There is an order to it. “The first thing I put on is lace and the last thing I put on is latex.” There is a playlist, and it is either Britney or Def Leppard, never anything in between. And then, dressed and ready with an hour still to go, there is the part nobody admits to.

Her own best Halloween was the first party she threw after moving to London, when she knew almost nobody and expected almost nothing of it. “I just felt like, even if two people showed up, that was fun for me. And more than two people showed up.” She went as a dead Cleopatra. Everyone followed the theme.
