BLUEBELLA X KALEIDOSCOPE TRUST
PRIDE 2021

Written by - Bluebella
Celebrate Pride Bluebella style!

To show love and support for our LGBT+ community, we’re teaming up this Pride with Kaleidoscope Trust. Working with activists around the world to achieve social and political change, their vision – and ours – is for a safe, free and equal world for LGBT+ people everywhere.

10% of the profits from our limited edition Pride pieces are going straight to help Kaleidoscope Trust in their vital work.

We are proud to support them on their mission for equality and fairness.

“We have recoloured some of our bestselling styles to create this beautifully bright collection. This colourful campaign is all about celebrating Pride, but at the same time supporting the amazing work of Kaleidoscope Trust. We’re very proud to be supporting an organisation that is affecting such positive change across the Commonwealth”

Bluebella founder and CEO Emily Bendell

WHO ARE KALEIDOSCOPE TRUST?

“Established in 2011, Kaleidoscope Trust works to uphold the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) people in countries around the world where they are discriminated against or marginalised due to their sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression.”

Kaleidoscope Trust

Did You Know…

It was only in 1967 that the UK decriminalised homosexual acts, with gay civil partnership not legal until 2005.

"We are delighted to have the support of Bluebella, Tayce and A'Whora in raising money for our important work upholding the human rights of LGBT+ people across the Commonwealth. So many LGBT+ people suffer discrimination, persecution and violence because of homophobic colonial-era laws, and the UK has a responsibility to redress these wrongs and help liberate our LGBT+ siblings. The support of a quintessentially British brand like Bluebella, with two of our brightest LGBT+ stars means the world to all of us at Kaleidoscope Trust."

Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, executive director of Kaleidoscope Trust

WHAT DO KALEIDOSCOPE TRUST DO?

As well as supporting and funding activists, Kaleidoscope Trust play a vital role in working to educate people about LGBT+ issues all around the world.

Whether that is combatting societal stigma in cities in Africa, or teaching here in the UK about the lasting impact of homophobic legislation as a result of colonisation, change can’t happen without education.

Did You Know…

Former British colonies are far more likely to still have anti-LGBT+ laws in place than the former colonies of other European states or other states in general.

Of the 72 countries with such a law still on the books in 2018, at least 38 of them were once subject to some sort of British colonial rule.

Whoever you are, whoever you love, stand tall and stand proud.

Here at Bluebella, we stand with you.
